The list of great items at the Spring Brunch Celebration silent auction keeps growing, and people will have a chance to bid during the brunch event on Saturday, May 5th, at Casa Larga Vineyards, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. You have to go.

There’s a golf threesome at Monroe Golf Club, a Keurig Elite Coffee Brewing system, and baseball tickets, restaurant certificates, beautiful gift baskets, plus an assortment of unique items that will help you celebrate the spring.

Spring auction hits high gear

The Kindle Fire will be auctioned, compliments of Jim and Bonnie Smith.

First of all, a huge thank you to those of you who have contributed some wonderful, creative, and generous Silent Auction items for the May 5th Spring Brunch (buy your tickets here through PayPal). We’ve received donations from both the PRC membership and businesses in the community. We also know of a few more that are in the works, but the details haven’t been finalized yet. If you’d like to contribute a Silent Auction item or have an idea for one, let Jen or Craig West know via email at jawest@rochester.rr.com or by phone at 545-0203.

In the meantime, to get the juices flowing prior to our event, here’s a sneak preview of what we have available now. Remember, to place a bid, you must attend the Spring Brunch. For those planning to be there, you will not be able to formally bid until the event begins on May 5th. We’ll provide updates as more items begin to arrive, but take a peek at what we have so far:

• Item #2: A gift certificate for 1 dozen cupcakes donated by From Scratch Cakery, valued at $28.

• Item #7: A golf outing for a threesome including carts at Monroe Country Club donated by Craig Chormann. Valued at $285
• Item #8: A gift certificate good for 1 oil change donated by Dial-A-Tire with a value of $31.
• Item #9: A Kindle “Fire” 7” tablet. Use it for web browsing and much, much more, donated by Jim and Bonnie Smith. Valued at $200.
• Item #10: From Bob Place, a legal package that includes a Power of Attorney (short form) and a Health Care Proxy. A $125 value.
• Item #11: A gift certificate from Pharaoh’s Hairum for a manicure and pedicure valued at $75.
• Item #12: Gift basket from the Towpath Café. A $50 value.
• Item #13: A gift certificate for a brunch for two at the Woodcliff Lodge.
• Item #14: A gift basket donated by Peg Havens that’s full of coffee, tea, chocolate treats and more.

Unofficial results show that Perinton Republicans won all of their races on Tuesday night. Take a look:

(R) Kevin Clark (incumbent), 600 votes, 28%
(D) Erin Westbay-Bird, 325 votes, 15%
(D,I) Wayne Shipman (incumbent), 546 votes, 25%

Town Supervisor
(R,C, I) Jim Smith (incumbent), 8,049 votes, 100%

Town Clerk
(R, C, I) Jen West (incumbent), 7,900 votes, 100%

Town Justice
(R, C, I) Tom Klonick (incumbent), 6,102 votes, 65%

Town Council

Election Day is Tuesday. It’s primarily a local election, but it is our local government that typically makes the greatest impact on people’s everyday lives. They are for leadership positions that govern the services our residents expect from the Town of Perinton, Village of Fairport and Monroe County.

So make sure you get out and vote for our GOP slate: Supervisor Jim Smith, Town Board Member Joe LaFay, Town Board Candidate Steve Van Vreede, Town Clerk Jen West, Town Justice Tom Klonick, Monroe County 11th District Legislator Mike Barker or Monroe County 18th District Legislator Ciaran Hanna, and Village of Fairport Trustee Kevin Clark and Trustee Candidate Sean Delehanty.
